Black Crowned Night Heron. Rock Cairns are a traditional and important method of marking a path or guiding ones way. Some are intended to be visible from the sea or river currents.
I used rich pigments to paint this piece. Each stone was painted using pigment made from ground stone, Zoisite, by Daniel Smith Watercolors. Tranquil waters and plants flow around the stones
